piCture pOlish Blog Fest 2013 - Year of the Blogger!

Hi guys! Today I have a very special post for you! I kept it a secret for 2 months but now I can say it, I've been chosen to be a part of piCture pOlish Blog Fest 2013 :) Woohooo! awesome right?!

This year, the challenge was to create our most "amazing nail art manicure ever" using 3 piCture pOlish shades provided to us. Here are the polishes I got : Nude, Fairy Floss and Paradise (by Liquid Jelly).

And when I say challenge, I mean CHALLENGE!!! When I discovered the colors provided to me, I kind of freaked out, lol! Nude and Fairy Floss = great combo! Paradise = awesome polish ♥ but... not really a color I would have used in mani with 2 Light Shades. Don't misunderstand me, all 3 polishes are beautiful but not together, lol XD But it was a challenge and I accepted it so... :P

After many many many nail arts on a nail wheel, here is my final choice :

To create this manicure I used : tape, a white striper polish, a makeup sponge, a clean-up brush and a dotting tool.

1. Start by painting your nails (all except the thumb) with piCture pOlish Nude (2-3 coats).

2. Paint a stripe on the makeup sponge with piCture pOlish Nude. Then, directly next to it, paint another stripe with Fairy Floss.

3. Apply the sponge on your nail to create the gradient. To minimize the mess, you can put some tape around your nail before sponging.

4. Repeat the same sponging process (step 2 & 3) a few times until you're satisfied with the opacity.

5. Apply a layer of top coat to blend the colors together and protect your gradient from the next step.

6. Remove the tape and clean up the mess with a brush and some nail polish remover.

7. Index & pinky : Grab your white striper polish (or a white polish & a striper brush) and draw some petals on the corner of your nail. Add a layer of topcoat.

8. Middle and ring : Create a "wave" with piCture pOlish Paradise and fill the bigger "blank" with Paradise.

10. Use your white striper polish to create swirls. You can use a small dotting tool (like I did) or a toothpick for the end of the swirl.

11. Use your dotting tool and the white polish to add some dots. Apply some topcoat.

For the thumb : paint your nail with piCture pOlish Paradise (2-3 coats) and repeat step #7.

Hope you like my mani =)

  7. This is stunning. You have a rather unusual pairing of polishes - I wouldn't have thought to put those three together - but you combined them very nicely. :)

    1. Yep very unusual, lol! I did my best, thank you! =)

New Year's Nails! || China Glaze Pelican Gray

Few weeks ago, I told you about my love for the "Winter Icicle Nail Art Tutorial" of Sandy DandyNails. As I received all I needed to do it myself, I decided that will be my nail art for New Year's Eve :) So here's the result (the pictures really don't do justice to the beauty of the holographic glitter) :

Review: Born Pretty Store - Acrylic Powders & Monomer #01

Hi guys!!!!!! I'm so excited to finally be able to post this review =)
So, the last products from Born Pretty Store I chose to review are acrylic powder & acrylic liquid (monomer). My very first try was a free hand bow, because there is a video tutorial on the acrylic powder page on BPS showing how to create a bow with acrylic powder. But it wasn't a success :/ So I bought 3D molds...
Here are the pictures of my first attempts:

Essence Fame Fatal (Colour & Go 114)

Oh red nail polish... I don't really like you on my nails, lol! If you know me a little, you know that red isn't favorite nail polish color... It's just too "femme fatale" for me!
So when I was looking for a red nail polish to use for nail art, cause everyone need at least one red polish, I came across this red by Essence, with THE perfect name ^^
